I am very new to sailing, and I took an ASA (American Sailing Association) class at the Harborage Marina, in St Petersburg, FL. I was referred to Preferred Yachts by the instructor and specifically, Andy Dean, to act as my broker when I was finally ready to buy a used sailboat. I knew how little I knew about boats, and I was honest and up front about it. Andy, despite being new to the industry at the time, helped me navigate a very frustrating and economically problematic "bad experience", but kept working with me until we found the right fit. Good or bad brokers are a dime a dozen in Florida, but great ones are rare. I seemed to learn that gem quickly. Preferred Yachts seems to be more invested with sharing a calming and beautiful thing (sailing), than tricking people to spend a lot of money on luxury items.
